Coming to this country in 1883, she resided at Orrville, Ohio, two years, then moved to Elkhart county, Indiana, where she lived four years and then moved to her final home in Madison township, St Joseph county, 5 miles west of Wakarusa, where she resided for about 35 years.
She was the mother of twelve children, seven of whom are living. Four sons, Ernest, Paul, Arnold and Bert; three daughters, Mrs A M Birk, Mrs Chas Avery and Mrs John Berger.
She is also survived by her husband, Christian Mutti, and numerous grandchildren.
She and Mr Mutti were married 49 years ago the 13th day of last March, and arrangements had been made to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary next year.
Her life was an example of a good christian mother. Her unselfish devotion to the welfare of others, was her creed.
The funeral services will be held Friday afternoon, meeting at the house at 1:00 o'clock, then going to the German Evangelical church, where the pastor will officiate. Interment in Resthaven cemetery.
