Susie Hogle was first married to Byron O. Conrad my Great Grandfather. They were married for about two years
Susie and Byron had one child.
Dorothy Conrad Lewis Bickel, my grandmother. Susie was later married to Joe Joris for 12 years until his death.
She then married Clarence E. Posey and the two of them divorced later in the marriage.
She went to Maryville State prison in 1936 for the murder of Clarence Posey. In 1939 she was released into the custody of her daughter to attend my Uncle Paul Byron Lewis's funeral and drowned herself in a lake in Michigan the day of my Uncle's funeral. She said she would never go back to the prison, this according to my Aunt Ivy (Iris) who was eight years old at the time. Susie died in Newburg, Cass County and according to online search records located in Michigan she was buried in Cassopolis, Cass County, Michigan Aug 19, 1939, cemetery unknown. Susie had two brothers, Guy Raymond Hogle and Collin Wilson Hogle and one sister, Golda (Goldie) Hogle Bingham.
Susie's granddaughters Iris (87) passed away in July, 2015 at St. Pauls Home in Greenville, Pa. and Minnie (83)(named after her Grandmother Sylvia Minnie (Pike) passed away on April 29, 2019 at UMPC in Erie, PA. Iris (Ivy) resided in Greenville, PA in her later years and Minnie resided with her son Stephen and Shelby Knox in Oil City, PA. NOTE (Minnie passed away on April 29th, 2019 at UPMC in Erie, Pa.)
I am Minnie's son Stephen D. Knox, great grandson of Susie Hogle Conrad Joris Posey and Byron Orville Conrad.
