Benjamin S. Isham, son of William and Harriet Isham was born in March of 1824 in New York. While still a youth he moved to Illinois and then to Canton, Buffalo County, Wisconsin.
He was united in marriage to Rose Hannah Cockerman on April 9, 1856 in Illinois and to this union six children were born, four whom are living: Emma, Oliver, Ira and Vera.
In 1880 they moved to Lac qui Parle County, Minnesota going all the way with oxen. They lived there until 1904 when they moved to Montevideo, making that their home until the death of his wife 4 years ago. He then came to live with his sons, Ira and Oliver in Buffalo County, Wisconsin.
There are four children, 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren left to mourn his passing and a half brother Edgar Isham of Wisconsin.
Benjamin passed away at 96 years old on February 11, 1919 at the home of his son, Oliver. Interment was made in Montevideo Cemetery by the side of his wife.
