Born to Charles Holland and Blanche Wells Holland on Christmas Eve, his name was given to him for geing the best Christmas "Carol" of the Season.
He attended Callands School in Pittsylvania County.
He loved his country and served in World War II in the 8th Army Air Force, 92nd Bomb Group and with the Military Police. He was in England for 23 months and France for 7 months. He was a Corporal from January 1943 to February 1946.
Before becoming a long time farmer, he worked for Nehi Bottling Company and Dan River Mills. He shared with his family that he had baled hay all over Pittsylvania County and Danville.
He was first married on April 6, 1946 to the love of his life for almost 52 years, Wylene Cassandra Holland who predeceased him.
The Lord sent him another loving mate, Charlotte Doolin McGuire Barber Holland on January 10, 2001.
