Herbert J. Lease was born Feb. 14, 1929, in Cumberland, Md., the son of Jesse Lee and Myrtle Mae (Minnick) Lease. He was a retired drywall mechanic for National Applicators.
He had been a demolition specialist in the Army stationed in Alaska and was a member of the inactive reserves.
He was president of the East Pines Area Boys and Girls Club.
He was married to Ruby Jean Henderson, who died in 1989.
Surviving are a son, Steven Lease of Riverdale, Md.; two daughters, Shelby Wright of Springfield, W.Va., Darlene Downs of Lothian.; a brother, Chester Lease of Laurel, Md.; two sisters, Lillian Twigg of Cumberland and Darlene Jarin of Myrtle Beach,S.C.; eight grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
