Visitation for Gladise Eve (Marler) Woodward, 96, will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Kimball Funeral Home. Service is planned for 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Pullman Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial will follow at Pullman City Cemetery.
Mrs. Woodward, a 56-year Pullman resident, died Thursday. She was born in Burlington, Wyo. Her family moved to Medicine Hat, Alberta, in 1912, and to Aetna, just north of the Montana border, in 1915. In 1922 they moved to Lethbridge for a few years and then settled in the Yakima Valley.
In 1925 she married Joseph Woodward in Yakima. They moved in 1926 to Cardston, Alberta, and operated a farm until they moved to Pullman in 1945.
She worked on the Washington State University campus in the food and nutrition department. She received her high school diploma in 1960 through correspondence courses.
Mrs. Woodward was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions in the church. She helped with the building of the church in Pullman, was a member of the Stake Relief Society Presidency, and was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the Sunday School Stake Board. She also helped establish the Family History Center in Pullman, where she was a librarian for 10 years.
Her husband, Joseph, died in 1986.
Survivors include two sons, Gordon Woodward of Atwater, Calif., and Ross Woodward of Spokane; a daughter, Joene Olsen of Sun City, Ariz.; and numberous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
