"Mrs. J. Fred Allen, 76, died Tuesday afternoon at her home. Funeral services will be Thursday afternoon at o'clock at the Roberts-Blue Funeral chapel. Rev. Claude O. Large, of the First Christian Church will conduct the services. Burial will be at Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Mrs. Allen, whose maiden name was Marie Luella Musgrave, was born April 23, 1865, at Magnolia, Iowa. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Musgrave who came to this country from England. On September 20, 1883, she was married to Charles F. Luce at Logansport, Indiana. Mr Luce died in February 1925, at Eureka Springs, Arkansas, and on January 21, 1933, Mrs. Luce married J. Fred Allen. Mrs. Allen had lived in Emporia since 1925. Mrs. Allen was a member of the Christian Church." (Emporia, Kansas, Gazette, May 14, 1941)
