LOUELLA ELIZABETH CRAFT DODD, 85, of New Castle, died peacefully Christmas Day 2001. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood J. Dodd; one brother, Luther Craft; and two sisters, Pauline Price and Addie Austin.
She is survived by her daughter, Patsy Dodd Whiting, New Castle; and five grandchildren, Diane Lugar, Bud Whiting, Loretta Keffer, Billy Joe Whiting, New Castle, and Lisa Harnack, Catawba. She is also survived by her seven great-grandchildren who were dear to her heart, Nathan and Nora Keffer, Emma Lugar, Rachel and Carly Whiting, Parker Harnack, and Kara Booth; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Pap Austin, New Castle; and special friend, Octa Nolan, Salem. A special thanks to the staff at Richfield Nursing Center for their special attention.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 28, 2001, at Crowder Cemetery in New Castle with the Rev. Larry Jent officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to The Craig County EMS, P.O. Box 81, New Castle, Virginia, 24127. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Paitsel Funeral Home, New Castle.
