John A Aiken one of our representative citizen passed out of this life with the death of John A Aiken which occurred at his home corner of Allegheny and Bishop ST on Monday evening. For 23yr he had been active business in Bellefonte and was the son of Hugh Aiken. When only 16yr of age he united with Presbyterian church at Reedsville later entering Wash. and Jefferson College from which Institution he was graduated with honors. He was a vet of civil war 35yr ago he was united in marriage to Miss Adeline Odenkirk a native of Milroy who survived him with their 3 children: Mrs. Geo. B Johnson of Beaver Falls PA,Emma Jane & John Earle of Bellefonte. He also leaves a brother and 2 sisters Mrs. Harcy of Belleview Ohio and Mrs. Charles Moore and Wm. H Aiken of Altoona buried in Union Cemetery.
