There is not a tombstone in the Sloan Cemetery for Donnell Sloan but I think he is buried there. In 1870 he is living in Clark County, South Fork Township in James Sloans household which was likely across the road from the cemetery. James and Donnell were brothers. The death date for Donnell is taken from a Journal kept by James Fortson 1875-1897. James Fortson writes "on Feb. 10, 1877 Donnell Sloan died at home from brain fever". I think it likely that his full name was Thomas Donnell Sloan named in memory of Rev. Thomas Donnell who was married to Eliza Sloan Donnell. I have never found a marriage record or a record giving his full name or his birth date. I feel confident that he is buried in the Sloan Cemetery in an unmarked grave.
