Russell Harold Threlkeld, 60, a retired employee of Fauber Construction Co., died at 7:05 AM Thursday, March 22, 1979, in his residence at 1804 Beck Lane. He had been in failing health three and one-half years. Born at Linnsburg, in Montgomery County, he was reared there, coming to Lafayette in 1946. He was a truck driver for Fauber Construction from 1951 until retiring in 1975. Mr. Threlkeld was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of First Christian Church and a 35-year member of Teamsters Local 543. In 1954 he was married at Lafayette to Ethel Ann (Mull) Lucas, who survives.

Also surviving are two children by a previous marriage, Mrs. Gloria Long and Michael Threlkeld, both of Crawfordsville; three step-daughters, Lois (Mrs. James) Smith, Mrs. Luann Jewell, both of Lafayette; and Linda (Mrs. Tom) Coward of Sterling, IL; six stepsons, Robert, Marvin, Daniel, Jerry and Donald Lucas, all of Lafayette, and Harold Lucas of Fountain Valley, CA; three sisters, Loretta (Mrs. Carl) Voorhis, Maggie (Mrs. Roscoe) Dalton, both of Lebanon, and Myrtle (Mrs. Eugene) Cory of Wisconsin; two brothers, Robert Threlkeld of Crawfordsville and Henry Threlkeld of Upland, CA; 24 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Services March 24 at Hippensteel Chapel, the Rev. George Cripe officiating; internment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
