Beverly Elaine Newman Steele 1929 ~ 2008 Beverly Elaine Newman Steele, 78, beloved wife, mother and Nana passed away peacefully in the loving presence of family on February 20, 2008 at Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful, Utah. Her parting words to her husband of 60 years were "I love you". Beverly was born July 14, 1929, in Bingham Canyon, Utah, to Hugo J and Dora Newman. She graduated from West High School in 1947, where she was a talented writer for the school newspaper. She married Ellis Jay Steele in the Salt Lake Temple on October 8, 1947 in a ceremony officiated by Joseph Fielding Smith. Beverly made friends wherever she went. She had room in her heart for everyone and their pets too! She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband, Jay; children, David (Ilene), Randy (Elise), and Loralee (David); six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers, Robert "Bob", and Alfred "Al" Newman; and sisters, Carol Beckstead and Deeny Otanez. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents and sister Betty. A viewing will be held at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Drive from 6-8 p.m. on Monday evening, February 25, 2008. Funeral services to celebrate her life and love will be held at noon on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at the Highland Park Ward, 2535 South Douglas Street (1260 East). Friends may call at the ward prior to the services from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Beverly's family wishes to express its appreciation to friends and family for their support and kindness.
