Aunt Sylvia was my Dad's sister. When my parents sold their Nebraska farm Mar 1958, we visited Aunt Sylvia that summer. She operated her own Beauty shop in 29Palms, CA. & owned her own home nearby. I remember a desert acreage with watered flower beds & a glass China cabinet with a collection of Depression glass. After supper, Aunt Sylvia let me pick out a beautiful bowl that she let me keep. Then she said, "Barbara if you came & live with me, I will see that you never want for ANYTHING." She added, "Besides, your parents are not...." I never let her finish, but ran to my parents, who were visiting the Myrtle Casey family, next door, my Dad's cousin, & a favorite relative. At this time, Aunt Sylvia lived by herself, who was still a nice looking woman, with a lovely hairstyle, beautiful clothes, & a picture perfect home. But, in spite of all her material blessings, Aunt Sylvia must have been a very lonely woman.
