Obit in Hazleton Standard Speaker reads: Death breaks marriage span
of 56 years. Mrs Michael Baran, Rr. 628 N. Church St., was promounced dead on
arrival at 5:55 pm Sunday at the Hazleton State General Hospital where she was
taken in the community ambulance. The former Mary B. Barvilchock, she was born
in Drifton, a daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Barvilchock. She and her
husband celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on Nov 12, 1977. She was a
member of St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church, and the Greater Hazleton Senior
Citizens. Preceding her in death were a son, Edward, and three brothers,
George, Peter and John Barvilchock. Surviving are her husband, Michael, a
daughter, Mrs. Margaret Brooks, Allentown RD, and two sons, Michael Jr. city,
and Raymond, McAdoo. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 10 great
grandchildren, and the following sisters and brother, Mrs. Verna Bodnar,
Hazleton; Mrs. Anna Banja, Townada; Mrs. Helen Serba, Lebanon; Mrs. Jacob (Sue)
Slusser, White Hall, and Michael Beritcho, Hazleton. The funeral will be held
at 9:30 am Wednesday from the Frank J. Bonin Funeral Home. Second Street
entrance, with a requiem high mass in St. John's B.C. Church. Interment will
be in Calvary Cemetery, Drums.
