Roby Lee Marlow
Birth: Dec. 7, 1914
Death: Mar. 31, 1995
Catawba County
North Carolina, USA

He was taken prisoner and listed as MIA for several months. He said all he had to eat was "turnip soup and molasses".
The prisoners were made to get down on the ground and eat out of a trough, as cows, pigs, horses, etc. eat or drink. He and another man had to share a blanket at night to keep warm. But ice was frozen on everything and he stayed cold and hungry all the time. When he was rescued, "they gave the prisoners all they could eat." These are the few words that he ever spoke of regarding what he had to endure while a prisoner of war.
