Bryce Fort married Alice A. Woods in Henry County on August 4, 1870. Their children were: Mrs Minnie Thornburg, Charles "Carl", & Harry Fort.
After the Civil War, Bryce Fort bought farm land in Rush County, a few miles southeast of Knightstown. In 1911, he and Alice came to live in Anderson, IN. They lived with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Charles Thornburg who ran the Madison County Orphans Home. There they both stayed until her death in 1926 and his death in 1932.
