Emless Whitley, 87, formerly of Walkertown, died January 19, at Meadowbrook Manor in Clemmons. He was born February 6, 1914, in Wilkes County to Treeley York and Effie Higgins Whitley. He attended Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Walkertown and was retired from Fogle Furniture Company. Surviving are his wife, Bessie Oakley Whitley of the home; a son, Barry W. Whitley and wife Myrna of Mocksville; two granddaughters, Brooke Cashion and husband Jake of Walkertown, and Andrea Whitley of Mocksville; and a great-granddaughter, Madeline Cashion of Walkertown. Funeral services were held at Vogler & Sons Main Street Chapel with Rev. James Lawton and Rev. Wes Austin officiating, and, burial followed in Gardens of Memory.
