Edward (Ted) James Curtin, Jr. was born in Portland, Oregon and raised in Oregon and California. At 18, he joined the Air Force, serving in the South Pacific in World War II and later in Korea. A Civil Engineer, he met and married Alethe (Lee) Smith, while both worked at Aerojet. They settled in Glendora, California. Ed later worked in the petroleum industry for Fluor Corporation. His work required temporary moves to Alaska, Canada, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Ed and Lee shared a lifetime of world travel as well as camping and enjoying the great outdoors. He particularly enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and marksmanship. He was a life member of the NRA. Their love of nature led to retirement in Paradise and Chico, CA. Later in life, Ed became an avid woodworker particularly with the scroll saw.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lee, and his half-brother, Bill.
