She was born Dec. 1, 1937, in Caldwell County to the late George Ralph "Steamer" Yount and Eula Reid Yount. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Albert Bean.
Mrs. Bean was a member of Hudson United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, April B. and Joe Hicks of Granite Falls; her granddaughter, Nikki Hicks of Granite Falls; her brother, G. Arnold Yount of Granite Falls; two sisters, Betty Starnes and Margie Clark both of Granite Falls.
The funeral service for Mrs. Bean will be at 3 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2008, at Mackie-High Chapel with the Rev. Keith Childers officiating, and a private burial will follow.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Mackie-High Funeral Home.
