LEROY BENDER LOSES LIFE
Lead Youth Dies In Car Mishap
Mrs. Virgil Bender, 211 Wall street, received a long distance message late last night from relatives in Council Grove, Kan., telling her of the death of her son, LeRoy Bender, 11, as the result of a car accident. LeRoy and another small boy was accompanying an older neighbor farm youth to town and on the way there the car struck a culvert, with the result that LeRoy's neck was broken. Death was instantaneous. The accident occurred at 10 o'clock last night.
LeRoy had accompanied his mother and brothers and sisters to Kansas at the close of school last spring and LeRoy and his sister Lorraine remained there to spend the summer.
