Native of Milford Victim of Accident:

George Waters, a prominent resident of Norwich, a native of Milford, died Aughust 8th at Chenango Lake, as the result of shock and heart failure following a fall into the Lake from a dock from which he was fishing. He and a companion were seated in camp chairs when the dock gave way and precipitated them into the water. Both swam ashore but Mr. Waters had been out of the water for only a few minutes before he collapsed. Artificial respiration was used but was ineffectual and the victim passed away very quickly.

Mr. Waters was born at Milford October 5, 1873, the son of Lewis Waters and Amelia Case. He had been a resident of Norwich for nealry forty-five years, forty-three of which he had been an employee of the O&W railroad. He was a former Alderman of the City of Norwich and was prominent in Masonic circles.

Surviving are one brother, Maynard Waters of Norwich; four sisters, Mrs. Mabel Murphy of Danbury, Conn.; Mrs. Fred Cook of Hartwick and Mrs. Ora Stickles of Akron and Mrs. Fred Hall of Norwich.

The funeral was held Thursday of last week.
