Larkin Prestridge, an old resident of the Strong City community passed away last Monday morning after a lingering illness of several years. His trouble was Bright's Disease and it had caused much suffering at different times. During the past few weeks he had been confined to his bed, requiring constant attention.
Uncle Lar, as he was familiarly known, was never married, yet he was not inclined to live a hermit life, but rather enjoyed the company of his fellow men to the extent that he endeared himself to all who knew him.
He was considered a good manager to the extent that he was one of our most substantial citizens.
He leaves to mourn his death two brothers, George Prestridge of this city and Andy Prestridge of Strong City, one sister Mrs. John West of Strong City. Besides the brothers and sister there are a large number of nieces and nephews and a host of warm friends who mourn his going.
The funeral semon was preached at the Baptist church at Srong City after which the body was brought to the Cheyenne cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma for burial. The Odd Fellows Lodge of Cheyenne of which he was a member, performed the funeral rites of the order.
