Death certificate shows middle initial as 'L' and date of death as 09/27/1958. Sons birth certificates shows as 'Alexander'. Requested photo of headstone 01/06/2013.

William was commonly known as X Treadway, he never used William or any of its variants (Will, Bill, etc.) except on formal occasions. His middle name in standard spelling was "Alexander." In the sometimes imaginative spelling tradition of rural Carter County it was spelled "LXAnder." His middle initial sometimes appears as A, X, or L, which ended up on his gravestone.
