Birth: Sep. 24, 1842
Waterloo Regional Municipality
Ontario, Canada
Death: Nov. 23, 1928
Randolph County
Illinois, USA

Frank, Harry Frank, H. Frank, or H.F. Isenhour served in the Civil War, Company E, 15th Illinois Infantry, enlisting at Galena, Illinois as Hiram.

H.F. first appears as Hiram in the 1851 census of Blenheim, Oxford County, Ontario, Canada. He was the son of William and Catharine (McCarty) Isenhour, the grandson of Michael and Marilla (Knickerbocker) Isenhour. He enumerated in the 1860 census with his parents and siblings at Galena, Jo Daviess County, Illinois as Hiram, age 17.

According to a Rockwood, Randolph County, Illinois obituary written at the time of his death in 1928, H.F. Isenhour was born in Gaal, Canada and served in the Civil War. It further states that he had five children, with his son Harry Isenhour the only survivor at that time, and he had seven grandchildren.

A death record for son Harry Franklin Isenhour indicates his father was born in Canada and lists his mother as Millie Banksten. Father Frank, mother Millie, son Harry and other children appear in the 1880 census, Goose Island Precinct, Alexander County, Illinois.

A marriage record for Alexander County, Illinois indicates that Harry F. Isenhour married Mollie C. Roberts in 1893. The 1910 census for Harry F. Isenhour at North Malden, Cotton Hill Twp, Dunkin Co., Missouri identifies this as the third marriage for Harry F. and the second marriage for Mary C. Isenhour. The 1928 death record for Harry F. lists Mollie Isenhour as his spouse.

What happened to his wife Millie is unknown at this time, as is her burial place. Also, it is not known whether Millie was his first wife, or his second wife.

Birth information taken from service record.
