Birth: Oct. 12, 1899
Marshall County
Minnesota, USA
Death: Sep. 20, 1978
Edmonton Census Division
Alberta, Canada

Son of Charles Bennie & Caroline (Hamburg) Carnegie. Married Grace Tumblin from the US on Man 4, 1918. After she died during the flu epidemic, he married Alberta Ostheidt in 1920.

Family Lore: Family lore said that Grace Tumblin had been engaged to George's older brother Charles "Charlie", before he left to fight overseas during WWI. Charlie was killed in Belgium in 1916. He was 18 when he died. George and Charlie's father Charles also enlisted and was killed in France about 3 months after Charlie. All a terrible time of sadness and waste of young lives. George Edmund also went overseas, but was found to be underage and held in England, and was to be sent home when in the mean time the war was over. He became engaged to Grace and they married in January of 1918.(Lorna S.)
