Civil War Medal of Honor Recipient. Born in Fairfield, Ohio, he served as a Private in Company F, 101st Ohio Infantry, Union Army. At the Battle of Chickamauga, Georgia, on September 19, 1863, while under heavy Confederate attacks, Private Myers defended and saved the regimental colors. For the greatest personal devotion and bravery, he was awarded the Medal of honor on April 9, 1894.
