TAUNTON – Albert R. Alegi, husband of the late Virginia (Neves) Alegi, died at the Life Care Center of Raynham on Aug. 23, 2012. He was 93. Born, raised, and educated in Taunton, he was the son of the late Armando and Annie (Enos) Alegi. A longtime resident of Taunton and East Taunton, he had recently moved to Raynham. Mr. Alegi was employed by the former Paragon Gear Company for many years before retiring in 1979. A member of the Italian Social Club and communicant of Annunciation of the Lord Church, he enjoyed fishing and playing cards in his spare time. He also loved going for long rides and the seashore. Survivors include two sons, Robert A. Alegi and his wife Susanne, and Dennis R. Alegi, all of Taunton; two grandchildren, Gina Iaconis of Franklin and Tisha Thornton of Coventry, RI; two great grandchildren, Hope and Paige Thornton; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Bruno Alegi, Dolores Duarte, Ida Palazzi, and Elsie Kawa. His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Wednesday, Aug. 29th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at Annunciation of the Lord Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
