In Windham Memorial Hospital, Willimantic, Conn., June 4th, Gilbert R. Doll, of Root Road, Somers, Conn., son of Everett B. and Vivian (Rogers) Doll. Funeral at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Main Street, Hazardville, Monday at 11.30 a.m. Burial in West Cemetery, Somers. Contributions may be made to the Gilbert Doll memorial fund care of St. Mary's Church.

- Somers Crash Probed -

STAFFORD SPRINGS, Conn. - An intensive investigation is continuing into the deaths Thursday night of four Somers High School seniors whose car crashed into a tree on Old Stafford Road, West Stafford.
The victims were Alan E. Gudaitis, 18, of 30 Maple Ridge Drive, the driver; Charles B. Gerrish, 18, of Main Street; Rudolph W. Devecis, 17, of Mountain Road, and Gilbert R. Doll, 18 of Root Road, state police said.

Police said the car was Northbound at 10.06 p.m. on Old Springfield Road, failed to negotiate a curve to the left, went off the right side of the highway and struck a tree.

Gudaitis, Gerrish and Devecis were pronounced dead at the scene by Dr. David Hastings, medical examiner.

Doll was taken to Johnson Memorial Hospital and then to Windham Memorial Hospital, Willimantic, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

State Police Sgt. William Neeland and Trooper Charles Vanderscoff were investigating the circumstances of the crash.

The four youths were to have attended a senior class banquet tonight in Holyoke. They were to be graduated June 17.

Devecis was born in Fitchburg, Mass., Aug. 23, 1952, son of Rudolph and Hazel (Crowley) Devecis and lived in Somers seven years. Besides his parents, he is survived by a brother, Sandor, and two sisters, Toni and Alexis, all at home. The funeral will be this morning at Somers funeral home with a requiem high mass in All Saints Church. Burial will be in West Cemetery.

Gerrish was born in Merseburg, Germany, Nov. 30, 1951, son of Charles and Eleanor (Birkenhauer) Gerrish. He lived in Somers 11 years. Besides his parents, he leaves a brother, Frank of Cromwell; a sister, Miss Diana, at home; and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Birkenhauer of Cromwell. The funeral will be Sunday afternoon at Somers funeral home. Burial will be in West Cemetery, Somers. Visiting hours are this evening.

Besides his parents, he leaves two brothers, Raymond C. of East Hartford, and Charles J. of New Britain; two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Deabil of Ellington; and Miss Cynthia, at home. The funeral will be Monday morning at Somers funeral home. Burial will be in West Cemetery. Visiting hours are tonight and Sunday afternoon and evening.

Doll was president of the Somers High School Student Council. He was born in Springfield, Mass., Jan. 16, 1952, son of Everett B. and Vivian (Rogers) Doll, and lived in Somers 11 years. Besides his parents, he leaves two brothers, Steven and William, and a sister, Victoria, all at home; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Doll of Somers, and Claire Rogers of Athens, Pa., and Mrs. John Hickey of Scottsdale, Ariz. The funeral will be Monday morning in St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Hazardville. Burial will be in West Cemetery, Somers. Visiting hours at Somers funeral home are Sunday afternoon and evening.
