Born in Quakake Valley, Packer Township, R.R. 1, Weatherly, June 6, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Neal and Florence (Bachart) Billig.
She was a member of St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church, McAdoo.
Mrs. Mehalko was proprietor of Mehalko's General Store in McAdoo Heights for 55 years.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, John Mehalko, Sr., in 1977; a sister, Mildred Wedge, and a granddaughter, Theresa Hinkle, both in 1989.
Surviving are a son, John Mehalko Jr., R.R. 1, Weatherly; daughters Mrs. John (Dorothy) Hinkle, Weatherly, R.R. 1; Patricia Mehalko, at home; brother Earl Billig, Tamaqua; sister, Erma Billig, Weatherly, R.R. 1.
Also surviving are five granchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, two aunts, and uncle, nieces and nephews.
Services will be from the Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home, Weatherly, on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. followed by Devine Liturgy With the Office of Christian Burial at St. Michael's Byzantine Church, McAdoo. The Rev. George Bujnak will officiate.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call Friday at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Parastas will be conducted at 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
