From "Death in Yellowstone" App. 4: A grave near the park south entrance was that of a "tourist girl" according to army scout Ray Little...the year and cause of death are unknown. Information in the park photo archives states that her name was Bessie Rowbottom."
Thanks to Find A Grave contributor Patsy Pearce for the following: Bessie Rowbottom, a sister to my husband's grandmother, was traveling with her family on their way to Canada with wagons and cattle to settle in the Calgary area. On the way, while passing through Yellow Stone Bessie became sick and died. The family sent one of her older brothers back to Wyoming to get the small white headstone that is now on her grave. The family later returned to Wyoming.
