Life came to a end for Mr. Britton on Tuesday, March 11, 1941, with the cause assigned as a heart attack.

The service of the last rites were held at the Baptist Church in Seagraves, on Wednesday following the death of a good man and Rev. John Rambin conducted the service honoring his memory at 5 o'clock in the afternoon and burial was made in a cemetery in that city.

Pallbears serving were, George, Buford and Marvin Lary, Weldon Schaffer, Dick White and S. Jenkins.

A.G. Britton was born and reared at Carlton in this county and his honorable, upright life is remembered by many friends all of whom are grived to learn of his death.

He was married to Miss Clara Shaffer in this county in June 1908.

His widow survives with their eight children, J.A. Britton, Floydada; A.V. Britton, Meadow; Mrs. O.F. McCray, Abernathey; Guy Britton, Denver, Colorado; W.D. Britton, Lubbock; Rayford and Reva Britton, Seagraves.

Other survivors of Mr. Britton include one own sister, Mrs. Myrtle Shaffer, Sudan; two one half sisters, Mrs. Sally Lary, Gatesville; Mrs. Bertha Chick, Dublin; and a half brother Ben Scruggs, Haskell.

Mr. Britton was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church and was a man of fine principles, exemplary life, and one of who worshipped the Father in church services and by supporting evangelic work. He was 52 years of age and had lived at Seagraves about three years. He was a prominent Gaines County farmer and many friends in that section mourn his early home going with the bereaved loved ones and friends in Hamilton County.
