Funeral services for Mayor L.
R. Price, 60, of 719 Stonewall
Street, are to be held this afternoon
at four o'clock at the
First Methodist Church with the
Rev. Joe H. Bridges and the
Rev. Jack Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Dublin Memorial
Gardens and active pallbearers
will be Tom Council,
Durwood Hawkins, B. J. Everett,
Carl Garnto, Jesse Burgamy
and G. B. Dillard. An honorary
escort will include the
Board of Stewards of the church,
members of the Dublin City
Council, Arthur Lane, Jr., Chief
of Police Bill Josey, Dr. W. P.
Roche, Jr., T. Hartley Hobbs,
Wiley H. Adams, Edison Harbin,
Sr., Chris Schaufele, Mc-
Grath Keen, Tom Lane, Robert
Woodard, S. B. Klnard and C.
D. Cathron.
The body will lie in state at
the church from three P. M.
until time for the services.
The Mayor died in an Augusta
hospital Tuesday night after an
illness of a few weeks. Son of
the late Charlie R. Price and
Clara Greenway Price, he was
a native of Johnson County but
had lived here for the past 30
years. He was district manager
of the Life of Georgia Insurance
Company, former president
of the Dublin Lions Club, former
member of the Dublin City
Council, a Mason and member
of Life Underwriters Association.
Mayor Price was a member
of the First Methodist Church
and a member of the Board
of Stewards
He is survived by his wife,
the former Miss Myrtle Thomp
son; one daughter, Mrs. Clara
Neele Gray, of Prattsville, Ala.;
two sons, Beeman Price, of Augusta,
and Barney Prlce,- of
Milton, Penna.; six grandchildren;
two sisters, Mrs. Marvin
Haley, of Dublin, and Mrs.
Louelle Hagan, of Garden City
six brothers, Cecil Price, of
Rincon, Earl Price, of Savannah,
Eugene Price, of Swainsboro,
Vestus Price, of East Dublin,
Wiley Price, of Rossville,
and Frank Price, of Jacksonville,
Fla., his stepmother, Mrs.
Zona R. Price, of Swainsboro, a
number of nieces, nephews, and
other relatives
