Lola Lee Carter was born in September 1870 in Texas. Lola married Charles H. Harper who was born August 26, 1863 in Indiana, son of William F. Harper (1835-1906) and O'Callie Parks (1840-1914).
The Texas Marriage Collection, 1814-1909 shows the marriage of C. H. Harper and L. L. Carter on December 16, 1886 in Hunt County, Texas.
Lola and Charles had seven known children: Luther C. Harper, Robert Lee Harper, Bessie L. Harper, Elberta 'Bertie' Harper, Cora B. Harper, Lora Harper, and Dora Harper.
The 1900 Federal Census for Township 6, Indian Territory (Choctaw Nation) shows Charles H. Harper, age 37, born August 1862 in Indiana; and his wife, Lola Lee, age 29, born September 1870 in Texas. Living with them were five children: Luther Harper, age 11, born June 1888 in Texas; Robert Lee Harper, age 9, born February 1891 in Texas; Bessie L. Harper, age 6, born October 1893 in Texas; Elberta Harper, age 4, born January 1896 in Indian Territory; and Cora B. Harper, age 1, born September 1898 in Indian Territory.
On January 31, 1916, Lola's husband, Charles died. He was buried in Cox Chapel Cemetery in Bryan County, Oklahoma.
The 1930 Federal Census for Durant, Oklahoma (Bryan County) shows Lola Harper, a widow, runs a home boarding house, age 59, born in Texas. Living with her were three daughters: Bertie Harper, a public school teacher, age 23; Lora, a public school teacher, age 19; and Dora, a public school teacher, age 19; all born in Oklahoma.
Lola died in 1949 and was buried in the Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma (Bryan County).
