Mrs. Hebert was born Nov. 16, 1941, in Carmel. She grew up in Castroville and moved to Salinas in 1963. She graduated from Salinas High School and Hartnell College and worked at the Monterey County Planning Department.
She was involved in the Junior League, American Cancer Society, Buena Vista Garden Club, Buena Vista 4H and Salinas FFA. She enjoyed bowling, traveling and reading the newspaper. She was named the first Castroville Artichoke Queen in 1962.
Mrs. Hebert is survived by her husband of 40 years, Mike Hebert; mother, Laura DeSante; son Mark Hebert and daughter-in-law Holly, daughter Laura Rasey and son-in-law Dustin and son Matthew Hebert; brother, Joseph DeSante and sister, Louise Ridsdale; four grandchildren; and six nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Dominic DeSante, and son Dominic Hebert.
Visitation will be held Friday, 9am to 5pm with a Vigil Friday, 7pm at Struve and Laporte Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be Saturday, 1pm at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Spreckels. Entombment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Salinas. Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 1184 Monroe St., Ste. 1, Salinas, CA 93906.
