Musician and Culture Historian. A native of Delaware, he moved to southern California in 1979, to pursue his passion for music and the California life style. He embraced the southern California culture of surf, sun, cars and surf music which became his life. As a professional drummer, he formed an authentic early 1960's surf band called "The Surf Chiefs". He with this group performed at local clubs, car shows, street fairs, including opening band for surf guitar king "Dick Dale" and was the feature act performing at the 1998 NAMM Show, in Los Angeles, California. Besides being an accomplished musician, he was a respected drum equipment expert, with a collection of more then 200 sets of rare vintage drums and he is mentioned in many books on the subject. He was also an authority on such collectables as vintage Schwinn Sting Ray Bicycles, G.I. Joe dolls, vintage cars and had an extensive collection of each. In his coastal community he operated a custom auto detail service, specializing in classic and vintage cars. Kevin was found dead at his home in Del Mar, California at the age of 48. He was preceded in death by his father. His mother, brother, sisters, son Ryan and mother of his son, former companion Lisa Thomaszeck survive him.
Cremated, Ashes given to family or friend.
