ULYSSES — Evan Perry Branch, 71, died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, at his home¬ in Ulysses.

He was born Feb. 17, 1941, in Atchison, to Perry Howard and Neva Michael Branch and stepmother, Minnie Grace Owen Branch. After graduating from Walsenburg (Colo.) High School, he served in the U.S. Navy.

On May 31, 1964, he married Billie Young in Ulysses. They moved to Ulysses in 1967. He was a school bus driver for USD 214 and drove the activity bus to school events. He also owned and operated Branch Septic Tank Cleaning and Young's Rentals for many years.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Chris Branch of Ulysses; a daughter, Vickie Branch of Fairplay, Colo.; a grandson; and several stepgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of life will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Church of Christ in Ulysses. Inurnment will follow at Ulysses Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Church of Christ Scholarship Fund or Grant County Scholarship Fund, both in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave., Ulysses, KS 67880.
