British Producer and Stage Designer. He is renowned in the history of 20th century British film-making and theatre design. He was also a writer and director, and his partnership with Basil Dearden produced some of the most memorable films of the 1940s and 1950s. Son of an actor, he began his career in 1932. Classics such as "Kind Hearts and Coronets," which Relph produced, and "The League of Gentlemen" are among his many credits. Later films on which he worked included "Victim," the controversial 1961 movie about homosexuality. He designed for the theatre, particularly the West End in the 1940s, from "The Doctor's Dilemma" and "A Month in the Country," to "Nap Hand" and "The Man Who Came to Dinner." (bio by: José L Bernabé Tronchoni)
