While at A&M, Marvin was in the Bugle Rank of the Field Artillery Band. Marvin married Beverly Graham in 1949. He said he was greatly blessed having Bev as his partner in life. Marvin and Bev have two children, Clay and Cynthia. Marvin became a lieutenant in the 145th Armored Infantry and served as a platoon leader and on Battalion Staff in S-2 Section. He worked for General Dynamics Fort Worth Division for over 37 years in the Process Control Department Bonding Laboratory as a supervisor and supported the B-36, B-58, B-57F, F-111, F-16 and many other projects. He retired from Lockheed in 1993 after General Dynamics was sold. Marvin was a member of Travis Avenue Baptist Church since 1947. He was a longtime member of the LMRA Model Railroad Club, enjoying the fellowship with the members and building projects for the club layout. For many years, he was a member of the Burleson Mounties Riding Club and working Play Days. Horses gave him much enjoyment through the years, especially good quarter horses. For many years, he would ride a horse almost every day, finding rough terrain that challenged the horse and himself. He said "one of the great, fun things in life was to be on a good cow horse with a lot of 'cow sense' working cattle."
