Mrs. Mary Sue Love Greene, 75, of 140 Cumquat Road, N.W., Lake Placid, Fla., a native and former resident of Watauga County, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010, at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Sebring, Fla.
She was born April 8, 1934 in Watauga County, a daughter of the late Clyde and Annie Hartley Love. She was a retired beautician and a member of Cove Creek Baptist Church.
Mrs. Greene is survived by two sons, William D. "Bill" Greene and wife, Sabrina, and Randy Carl Greene, all of Salisbury, N.C.; two daughters, Teresa J. Greene and Carla S. Greene, both of Salisbury; two grandchildren, Coty Carl Greene and Kenneth Shane Greene, both of Salisbury; three brothers, Robert Love and wife, Ruth, of Okeechobee, Fla., Lawrence Love of Efland, N.C., and Charles Love of Schertz, Tex.; one sister, Faye Tipton and husband, Wayne, of Springfield, Ohio; and two brothers-in-law, Pat Greene and wife, Mary Jo, of Mountain City, Tenn., and James H. Greene and wife, Carolina, of North Wilkesboro; and her special friends, Tina Secreast and husband, Donald, of Radford, Va.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman "Carl" Greene; and one brother, Ray Lewis Love.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon, Jan. 24, 2010, at 2:00 o'clock, at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel. The body will lie in state, at the chapel, from 1:00 until 2:00 o'clock. Officiating will be Pastor John Bolinger. Entombment will follow in Mount Lawn Memorial Park and Gardens Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening, from 7:00 until 8:30, at Hampton Funeral Service.
