He returned to the West for a period of time before returning and living with his son Ralph and Wife Arte and his two grandchildren Lyle Hazel and Juanita in Cooperstown Tsp when he died. His beloved wife Sallie was buried in the Mt. Sterling City Cemetery by her parents and although there is no headstone for John C. he is buried beside her.
