W. C. Carter Dies in Little Rock

William Clarence Carter, Sr., age 77 of Fordyce, died Thursday, July 1 in a Little Rock hospital. He was a member of the Fordyce First Baptist Church and operated a cleaning and pressing establishment in Fordyce from 1919 until his retirement a few years ago.

He is survived by two sons, Lt. Col. William C. Carter, Jr., of Georgia and Dr. James D. Carter of Texas; a daughter, Mrs. Roy Frank of Little Rock; a brother, J. L. "Nick" Carter of Arkadelphia and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 2 in the First Baptist Church of Fordyce. Burial was in Oaklawn (sic) Cemetery by Benton Funeral Home.
