Inscription
SACRED
to the memory of
Lieut. JACOB BLODGET,
who departed this life
Feb. 29th 1808, in the
60th year of his age
Beneath this stone I turn to dust,
But I hereafter shall arise;
And he, in whom I put my trust,
Will bear me upward to the skies.
There, sorrow, pain, & death will cease,
And every tear be swip'd away,
There shall I dwell in perfect peace,
And thou, O Grave must loose thy prey.
