"Relatives here have received word of the death of Fred Wolf Sr., a former Plainfield resident, at the home of his son, Albert Wolf, in Roseville, Calif., on Saturday, April 5, 1941. Funeral services and burial were in Roseville on Monday. Mr. Wolf was 91 years old, having been born in Germany on Dec. 13, 1849. On June 14, 1874, he was united in marriage to Salome Rohr of Helmingen, Baden, Germany. They resided in Strasbourg until 1881, when they came to America and located in Plainfield, where Mr. Wolf worked at his trade of stone mason, until 1904 when they moved to West Chicago. About thirty years ago they moved to California on account of Mr. Wolf's health. Mrs. Wolf died there on Dec. 20, 1940. He is survived by three sons Fred, Carl, and Albert, all of California ; six daughters, Mrs. Louise Chandler of Mundelein Ill., Mrs. Carrie Miller of Belvidere, Ill., Mrs. Ricka Ketcham and Mrs. Mary Geyer, both of Roseville, Calif., Mrs. Salome McConnell, and Mrs. Clara Hodgman; and several grandchildren."
