Susanna was born as the third, and first surviving, child of William Asfordby [1638-1698] and Martha Burton [1634-1711], both of Lincolnshire, England. They were married in England and arrived in Ulster County, New York about 1674.
Susanna married John Beatty, marriage license issued on 7 November 1691, in Esopus [Kingston], New York state; in 1691. John was Sheriff of Ulster County, was Trustee of Marbletown, and Deputy Surveyor of the Province of New York. His will, made 26 April, 1720, was proved 9 March, 1721.

Susanna owned 1,000 acres in Frederick County Maryland at one point.

To son Robert's children: John, Moraca, Susanna, George, Margaret and Jane Beatty, land containing 300 acres, being part of tract called "Rocky Creek," lying on west side of Monocasey, beginning at the end of 194 perches in 4th line of tract called "Rocky Creek" beginning and running from thence north and by east 113 perches and etc., and tract called "Providence," granted to Edward Beatty on Linganores
To daughters Agness Beatty and Martha Middaugh, furniture.
Balance to children: William, Agness, John, Thomas, Edward, Martha and James, an even 1/8 pt. between son Robert's children.
