Mr. Russell Brian "Rusty" Bennett, 45, died Thursday morning (August 9, 2012) in Williston, ND after an automobile accident.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Ware County. He attended Wacona Elementary School and graduated from Glynn Academy in 1985. As a band member, he played the trumpet in high school and he had the privilege of playing at three Georgia Bulldogs games. He graduated from Andrew College in 1987 with an associate's degree in computer science. He was employed by Brantley County Sheriff's Department for many years and Ware County Sheriff's Department as recent as three months ago. He attended Kettle Creek Southern Congregational Methodist Church. He taught at Pak's Karate as a black belt instructor, loved riding his motorcycle and playing video games.

He is the son of the late Rev. Monroe Bennett and Barbara Stribling Sibus.

Survivors include two brothers, Craig Monroe Bennett (wife Carla) of Rincon, and Mitchell Scott Bennett (wife Michelle) of California; special niece, Heather Harless; nieces and nephews, Monroe Jr., J. T., Zachary, Brandon, Krystal and Trish; aunts and uncles, Buck and Martha Alverson, Jack and Celia Gadomski; first cousins, Terry and Shan Anderson, Bubba and Nina Alverson; and numerous other relatives.
