Violet was the 10th of 12 children born to John David and Sallie (Ellis) Morris. Her middle name was legally 'Retha', but Violet hated that name and started calling herself Violet Rose. This is why her name on her headstone reads as it does, but she never changed it legally, so the memorial reads Violet Retha.

Her first husband was Floyd Williamson. According to the Oklahoma County Marriage Records, they married on 3 Apr 1920 in Okmulgee County, Oklahoma. Her brother, Bill Morris, was a witness at her wedding. Her second husband was Norman Peter Price. They married on 2 Oct 1923 in Okfuskee County, Oklahoma. By 1925, they were living in Houston, and that was their home until Norman's death in 1946.

At the time of her death, Violet was living in Dickinson, Galveston County, Texas. She died of a cerebral hemorrhage in Galveston County Memorial Hospital in Texas City, Galveston County, Texas at age 53 and was buried in Houston next to her husband.

Her son, Frank, signed the Texas death certificate. On it, the doctor noted that she died October 31, 1957, at 6:10 a.m., but the death date on her stone is November 1, 1957, so that's the date I've used.
