RUSHVILLE — Arlene Burton, 86, of Milroy passed away Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, while in the company of family members at Hickory Creek Nursing in Greensburg.
Arlene was born in Jabez, Ky., on Jan. 21, 1926, a daughter of the late Lura E. (Flanagan) Denney and P.M. Denney.
She was the widow of Ovel Gilbert Burton. They were married Oct. 30, 1952.
She is survived by daughter Pamela Burton of Greensburg; son, Paul (Trina) Burton of Milroy; grandsons Darren Adkins and friend Lisa Cachran, Calvin (Dawn) Adkins, and Benne Burton, all of Milroy; great grandchildren Jason, Jacob and Ellen Adkins, all of Milroy, Tyler, Tevon and Jullian Burton, all of Greensburg; and sister Pauline Burton of Shelbyville. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Adams; a son, Jason Burton; and brothers Willard and Walter Denny.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at Burns Funeral Home in Milroy with Rev. Dallas Burton officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10.
Interment will be at East Brook Cemetery in Milroy.
Memorials may be made to the Rush County Humane Society.
She retired from Knauf, Inc., in Shelbyville and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Greensburg.
