Carl Lane Walker, Jr., 73, of Lenoir, passed away Monday, August 6, 2012 at Camelot Manor in Granite Falls.

Mr. Walker was born in Caldwell County to the late Carl Lane Walker, Sr. and Maggie Allen Walker. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Walker and three sisters, Helen Walker Johnson, Betty Walker Andrews and Virginia Walker Pritchard. He is survived by a sister, Mary Walker Pierce of Lenoir.

He was a social worker for Caldwell County Department of Social Services and was a lifelong member of Whitnel United Methodist Church where he served as the Librarian of the church.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Whitnel United Methodist Church with Reverend Leon Morrow officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

The family respectfully requests that memorials be made to Whitnel United Methodist Church 1373 Delwood Drive SW, Lenoir, NC 28645 or to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
