Mrs. Jewell N. Jernigan, 73, passed away at her home in Middleburg, FL., surrounded by her loving family. Born in Thomasville, GA., she moved to Middleburg in 1978. She was a registered nurse.

Mrs. Jernigan is survived by her husband of 54 years, Rev. James W. Jernigan Sr.; a daughter and son in law, Dr. Kay D. and Pat Bunch of Atlanta, two sons and their wives, Rev. James W., Jr. And Jean Jernigan of Lincolnton, N.C., Rev. John M. and Coyene Jernigan of Lenoir, N.C.; beloved aunt, Edna Rachels of Waycross, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Jernigan was a member of the Brannanfield Baptist Church, 908 Brannanfield Road, Middleburg, Fl., 32068, where a memorial service will be held 10:00 am Tuesday with Pastor Jack Lee and both her sons officiating.

Memorialization will be by cremation and internment will be in Oakland Cemetery in Waycross, GA.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be sent to Brannanfield Baptist Church.

Miles-Odum Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
