Services for Nettie Louise Conrad 94, Bushong, were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Carlson Funeral Home Chapel in Emporia. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery Emporia, with rites by the Order of the Eastern Star.
Mrs Conrad, a native of Lyon County, died Thursday, May 25, 1995, at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka. She had lived in Washington D.C. for many years and had worked for 22 years and had worked with the U.S. Treasury Bureau of Engraving and printing before to this area in 1973.
Born July 12, 1900 at Emporia she was a daughter of Michael and Mary Sliesher Moyer. She was married to Oran Wilson "Woody" Conrad Oct 18, 1941 at Rockville, MD.Mrs. Conrad was a member of the Bushong United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, The Eastgate No 21 Order of the Eastern Star in Allen. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Leonard Rumford, Council Grove, and Elbert "Alden" Rumford, Emporria; a Daughter Mary Louise Conrad Decker, Admire; 11 Grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Two brothers, Peter and Alfred Moyer and two sisters, Annie Gertrude Senevay and Bertha M. Lynch, preceded her in death.
Memorials have been established with the Bushong United Methodist and Allen OES with Contributions to be sent in care of the Funeral Home.
